Well, after much waiting and lots of e-mails our AORC Quantum Supercamper finally arrived. We were looking forward to the comfort of the new van but also wanted to keep the freedom we experienced with our Kimberly Kamper. Unfortunately due to Dave's accident we weren't able to travel to Queensland to collect it so we had to wait until early November before we could take it our for a shakedown trip.
So far we are more than impressed. Inside it is small, but very comfortable. I think the mistake would be to confuse this van with a caravan. it is essentially a camper trailer with solid walls! The kitchen is outside and this was a critical feature for us. We wanted to keep the feeling of camping that we experienced with the KK. after all, our best experiences with camping have been shared with friends and we wanted to maintain the ambiance that comes from sitting outside with others enjoying the experience.
Our Jurien Bay trip was very short. Unfortunately work got in the way, but at least we had the opportunity to give things a try. We enjoyed the company of our friends Vicki and Rod and loved the new camper. There is much to be said about sleeping on a good inner spring mattress!
We hope to use this blog to keep our friends up to date with our travels and some bits of our day to day lives. Don't expect daily entries! We will use this to share significant events and photos as we find the time.
